As someone who grew up in a small village in Egypt and studied my whole life in Arabic at public schools — and now doing my PhD in the U.S. — I know how hard the transition can be after years of studying only in Arabic. It took me a long time to adapt, and it wasn't easy at all in the beginning. But over time, things got better, and I finally reached a place where I feel comfortable.

So if I were to give one piece of advice to anyone coming from a similar background, or still chasing big dreams, I wish someone had told me early in my life to learn English well.

If you're where I once was, start learning English early. And if you're already learning but still struggling, trust me, I've been there. I know how exhausting it can feel and how much effort and sacrifice it takes.

But I promise, it's worth it. One day, you'll see how much it pays off.
